healthy livin'

If you are anything like me, then you are wanting to get back on track this January in the eating right/staying active/living healthy department.  Because again, if you're like me, the exact opposite of all of that happened over the holidays.  I tried, really I did, but it was just so hard to say "no" to pie.  And bread and brie and chocolate and 5guys [twice! ugh.] & ohso easy to relax in pj's instead of lacing up those running shoes...

So along with running, at least 8 miles a week for now; spinning, yoga & pilates are some of my favorite ways to get my rear back in gear.  And in the name of stepping out of comfort zones, I am hoping to try a few new classes at my gym.  Body-pump? yes! zumba? no.  I have my limits.

Eating more soups & salads, sweet potatoes & fruit, detox water & hot tea -- but still allowing the occasional chips/guacamole/salsa/margarita night to happen -- duh.
And for when you need a sweet treat: a healthy recipe- if you will:
pile up some of your favorite fruits -- top with chopped nuts[for protein&crunch] -- and drizzle a little honey on top! so good & guilt free.
These no-bake energy bites are also a favorite cure for the sweet tooth blues -- or lunch, whichever.

Taking my time & easing back in slowly, trying not to obsess & be so darn rigid with myself.  Less rules more fun.  Learning to enjoy the process and live a healthy lifestyle, the right way.   A new years goal,  not a resolution.
