a drive to ramp 4

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

To celebrate May and four wheel drive, I suppose -- we took a drive on Sunday down highway 12.  This wondrous highway might be my favorite -- easing you down the coast through small beach towns and easy livin'-- the Outer Banks of North Carolina is in a word, magical.  Truly.

Giddy and inexperienced new owners of an ORV permit we bounded our way onto the sands and parked ourselves right in front of the ocean.  I know, I'm still reveling in the awesomeness too.  We relaxed, we explored, we picnicked -- and then he fished and I took a nap, the most glorious Sunday indeed.

And no beach day is complete without sandy feet{& paws}, sunglass tans, and a greasy chili dog from sonic.  Oh and ice cream too.

And now I am counting down the days until we can venture our way back down this highway-- to 80 degrees and sun and relaxation that is almost tangible.

Cheers to new adventures and to May-- And also Summer, I see you.
