grateful this morning.

for work days when you feel both appreciated and needed.

for muffins baking in the oven, french press coffee, and chris stepleton crooning from the radio.

for november light.  early to rise with blush pink hues, streaming through treetops at noon, and leaving us earlier and earlier with lavender silhouettes and shadows. magic.

for that new iPhone feeling-- giddy, worldly, nerdy, and scared all in the same breath! such an exciting time.  also, I need to put a case on this pretty thing because....

for windows still open and the peak of autumn colored leaves coinciding --a early november gift.

for an invigorating seven mile run on tuesday. mind-clearing and inspiring, and just like that, I'm back.

for Legos and Frozen and sweet snuggles while babysitting earlier this week.  No tears from the littlest babe! and hearing "aunt katie" out of the mouth of a four year old -- well you can imagine the puddle I melted into.

for the way God speaks to your heart right when you need to hear him most --
"I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

for small joys this week: early birthday mail!; Thursday date with $1 champagne and fried shrimp; our sweet mailman who found me & Lucy on our neighborhood walk to hand deliver a package; the smell of chili wafting through the entire house; holiday catalogs and red cups and twinkle lights for sale; jokes and laughs and silly banter in the kitchen--my guy and me, we have a fun kind of love; found the perfect pair of brown booties and made them an early birthday gift to myself.

grateful for my grandpa, my brother, my dad-- and all the men and women, past and present, who have sacrificed so much and honorably served our country.  ever grateful for your bravery.
